Is there an application fee?

There is no application fee for any of our courses. However when accepting an unconditional offer you must pay a deposit of £200, which will be deducted from your fees when you register.

Is there an application deadline?

There is no deadline for applications although entry to the programme is competitive and the course may become full some months before the start of the academic year. If you are concerned about courses filling up then please contact the Postgraduate Administrator who will be able to advise you on the availability of places.

How many contact hours will I have a week?

In the first two terms, students will take a variety of taught subjects which combine lectures with workshops or labs. The contact hours per week will be approximately 9-12. In addition, students will be expected to spend about 9 hours a week in self study and revision. In the final (summer) term, students will entirely devote their time to the dissertation.

Is there an interview?

Applicants are not generally interviewed, however if the Programme Director feels that an interview is required we will contact you.

Can I fax my application to you?

We would prefer to receive the original documents by post.

Can I apply before I have my final degree results?

You can apply before you have your final degree results but we will require an interim transcript showing your grades to date. We may then make you a conditional offer.

My university transcript is not in English � what should I do?

Have the transcript officially translated by a registered translator, your local British Council or British Embassy, lawyers or your university. Translations must bear the official stamp.

Can I pay my tuition fees by instalment?

It is possible to pay tuition fees by instalment. See here for details of how to pay fees

Do I have to write a dissertation?

Yes, all students have to write a 10,000 word dissertation.

What are my employment prospects if I graduate with this MSc?

The programme is directed towards employment as an economic analyst or researcher in a variety of fields. In addition to banks and financial sector companies, the programme will help students prepare for careers in regulatory and policy making bodies such as central banks, trading standards agencies and multilateral organisations. It will also provide students with a good background to carry into doctoral research and future careers in academia.
