Our aim is to provide members with resources and events to learn more about the subject, to meet and network with fellow enthusiasts, and to have fun! Inter- society football tournament

Economics Society is hosting an inter-society 5-a-side football tournament- the first of its kind. We hope to show the other societies that we are more that just brains. If you are interested in participating please email us (econsoc@city.ac.uk).
Bank of England Event - Open House Weekend
The Bank of England and Museum will be open to visitors. 30-minute guided tours of parts of the Bank. No booking required. Come early to avoid the queue. Last entry 4:30pm.

"Careers in Government"
Andy Ross from the Government Economics Service comes to speak to the University about working for GES after graduation. With a major presentation from Andy Ross and others speaking about their individual work in different departments. Presentations are followed by an opportunity to ask questions and refreshments provided afterwards.

Debate/ Discussion
The topics for discussion will include:
Why are countries without many resources (e.g. Switzerland) relatively richer than countries with abundant resources (e.g. Nigeria)
Jeremy Bentham lecture at UCL
The Society ran an event at University College London recently, involving both a talk by members of the ‘Bentham Project’ and a chance to look at their recent activities and the manuscripts of Jeremy Bentham. This was followed by a talk by Dr Andy Denis on Utilitarianism and the controversy of Bentham at the auto-icon.
