City Racing Team

City Racing is City, University of London's entry into the Class 1 Formula Student event and competition developed by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. The team is comprised of undergraduate third and fourth year Engineering students from the School of Mathematics, Computer Science & Engineering. The cars are designed and built by the students with support and advice provided by the School's academic and technical staff in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics.
Currently the team is designing the 'CR15' entry into Class 1 of the 2015 UK Formula Student competition to be held at the Silverstone Circuit in July 2015. The Class 1 challenge is to design, build and race a single-seat racing car against other student teams representing Universities worldwide.

City Racing provides students with:

  • Crucial practical experience
  • Transferable skills
  • Strong team building aptitude
  • Skills to inspire a new generation
  • Addresses a skills shortage in Engineering.
