Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Electrical Engineering was one of the first departments established at City’s forerunner, the Northampton Institute, in 1894; with City being one of the first institutions in the country to offer related courses at graduate level.

Today it offers courses focusing on areas of biomedical, electrical and electronic engineering, underpinned by academic excellence and internationally recognised research at the heart of London. The department has a research-active culture and its staff supervises around 50 PhD students.

Research

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering incorporates three research centres undertaking research in the areas of sensing challenges in industrial and clinical practice, and research in systems, control and networks.
