The Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering continues a longstanding tradition of academic excellence in the field at City, University of London.

Electrical Engineering was one of the first departments established at City’s forerunner, the Northampton Institute, in 1894; with City being one of the first institutions in the country to offer related courses at graduate level. The department offers a wide range of engineering courses at all levels of university education, focusing on areas including electrical & electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, computer systems engineering, telecommunications and systems & control engineering. The department has a research-active culture and its staff supervise around 50 PhD students.

Research

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering incorporates three research centres undertaking research in the areas of sensing challenges in industrial and clinical practice, and research in systems, control and networks.
