2016

  • June: Intel Buzz Workshop: The Latest in Gaming. Student work exhibited at the workshop
  • May: The Guardian lists City in the Top 20 of UK universities and fourth in London in the Guardian University Guide 2017
  • May: Careers in Games Event at City, featuring speakers from Rewind.co and Criterion / EA
  • April: Computer Games Technology MSc alumni meet-up
  • March: EGX Rezzed in London
  • January: City was a host site for the Global Game Jam. A large number of postgraduate (and undergraduate) City students participated and created games.

2015

  • December: Computer Games Technology MSc alumni meet-up
  • December: Intel Buzz Workshop: Learn and Play with Industry
  • November: Get in the Game career talk by Aardvark Swift, featuring speakers from Microsoft and games studios
  • November: The course is accredited by TIGA who were impressed the focus on ‘hard’ programming skills and engagement with industry
  • September: Computer Games Technology MSc alumni meet-up
  • August:  City, University of London is the top ranked London university based on National Student Survey scores
  • August: Three City students compete at Dare to be Digital
  • June: Computer Games Technology MSc alumni meet-up
  • June: TIGA Game Dev night, featuring speakers from Beefjack, Gateway Interactive, and Bossa Studios
  • May: Careers in Games Event at City, featuring speakers from Interactive Selection, Criterion / EA, Green Hippo

  • November: Aardvark Swift presented a Get in the Game Careers Talk on campus
  • November: Gaming Developer Conference at ExCeL centre
  • November: City gets Unreal Engine 4 Academic Licenses for students' personal use
  • September: Computer Games Technology MSc alumni meet-up
  • July: TIGA Game Dev night, Dolby Laboratories Soho
  • June: London GameCraft 2014 Game Jam at the Skills Matter Exchange
  • June: Ben Royce (Datascope), Rahul Dey (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe), external speakers: Careers in the Games Industry
  • May: Computer Games Technology MSc alumni meet-up
  • March: Clemence Bataille (HR, Ubisoft HQ) and Matt Lacey (Gameplay Engineer, Ubisoft Reflections Studio), external speakers
  • March:  BAFTA Inside Games Event
  • February:  Cancer Research UK launches Play to Cure: Genes in Space game, based on games designed by City, University of London students. Since February, the game has had close to 1 million downloads.
  • January:  City was a host site for the Global Game Jam (24th-26th January). A large number of Postgraduate (and Undergraduate) City students participated and created games.

  • November: TIGA game hack at Pinewood Studios, London
  • November: City invited to exclusive Playstation 4 pre-launch developer events at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe
  • September: Computer Games Technology MSc alumni meet-up
  • October: TIGA Game Dev night, Dolby Laboratories London, including speakers from Future Games of London, Headstrong Games, and Mediatonic
  • June: Social, MMO, and Online Games event, including speakers from Skyrama, Microsoft, Bossa, Jagex
  • May: Innovation, Creativity, and Leadership Event, including several games companies
  • April: Tour of Marmalade Studios
  • March: Cancer Research UK Game Hack at Google Campus
  • February: City, University of London hosted the London Game Developer's Meetup, including external speakers Richard Lord (Sticksports), Ashley Gullen (Scirra), Oscar Clarke (Applifier).
