Experimental Fluid Dynamics
The experimental group specialises in the development of purpose-built experiments designed to validate the models and improve understanding of complex flow physics. The current experimental activities covers a wide range of research area including IC engine, fuel injection systems, biofuel, cavitation, two-phase flows, positive displacement machines, high speed compressors, micro turbines, marine propellers, energy conversion systems, heat exchanger, nanomaterial, Structural dynamics and aeroelasticity. Unique expertise exists in all above area with extensive facilities. The group is equipped with the most updated optical (like high-speed camera, LDV, PDA, PIV, PLIF) and HWA measuring techniques for flow diagnosis and a good number of performance testing for different machines.
