Entry Requirements
Tariff Points
- Applicants should have two A-levels or equivalent or have relevant work experience
- Applicants should also demonstrate an interest in and commitment to public services and/or the voluntary sector.
- GCSE Grade C in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent.
Applicants who do not meet these entry criteria will be considered based on equivalent qualifications, previous experience, assessment and applicant interview.

Course Content
The design and content of this course has been put together in close collaboration with major public sector employers including the London Boroughs of Camden, Islington, Tower Hamlets, and Barts and The London NHS Trust.

Teaching and Assessment
The course employs a variety of teaching techniques, combining lectures, seminars and action learning sets - with particular emphasis on work-based learning and the transfer of knowledge gained from the course to the work setting. Students are expected to bring their work experiences to the classroom and their theoretical learning to the work place. The majority of teaching takes place at City and Islington College.
Students are primarily assessed by assignments that have work-related content.

Graduates of the course will be prepared for a wide range of careers in education, local government, the NHS and the voluntary and charity sectors. Graduates are also able to progress to a further year's study at City University London for the BSc (Hons) Professional Practice (Public Service Management).
