Web Animation and Design with Flash and ActionScript Short Courses
This course provides a comprehensive overview of Adobe Flash CS5.5, so that you can create interactive, fast-loading motion graphics for the web, which can be replayed using the easily available Flash Player. You can also create complete web sites using Flash, while taking advantage of its animation and design functionality. You will also learn the basics of interactivity provided by the ActionScript scripting language.

Tutor Info
Rui Filipe Antunes has a previous background in fine arts and computing. He has been teaching multimedia and computing for over a decade. He holds an Msc in Arts Computing from Goldsmiths College, University of London, where he is currently a PhD candidate in Arts and Computational Technologies. His main area of interest is the study of virtual ecologies.Eligibility

What will I learn?
- An introduction to Flash functionality: Familiarisation with the Flash workspace and interface. Toolbars, timeline and the stage.
- Drawing with Flash: Learning to use the drawing tools, creating shapes and paths, using type
- Using the Timeline: Controlling the timing of your animation. Adding keyframes and layers
- Tweening: Getting Flash to animate movement and effects in your movie
- Symbols: Creating buttons, reusable graphics and movie clips to reduce the size of your movie
- Interactivity: Add actions to buttons to allow users to control your movie
- Actionscript: Use Flash's own scripting language to create fully functioning Web applications
- Multimedia: Adding sound, video and other media to Flash
- Publishing Flash movies: Incorporating Flash movies into web pages and using Flash to publish your movies in their own Web pages.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- create graphics using vector-based drawing tools using Flash
- animate content using layers and the timeline
- create interactive animations using Actionscript
Teaching and Assessment
