From Script to Screen: Introduction to the Film and TV Industry  Short Courses


This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the film and television industry. It highlights the different stages of planning, production, post-production, marketing and promotion. The course is directed at people who are starting work or wishing to work in the industry.

Tutor Info

Lyn Turner is Technical Director of Four Corners, a film production and training organisation which has supported filmmakers for over 30 years. She has wide experience within film and broadcast as a writer, director and producer, working across a range of productions including shorts, independent features and documentary.

Eligibility

No prior knowledge required.

English Requirements

Applicants must be proficient in written and spoken English.

What will I learn?

You will obtain a comprehensive overview of the film and TV industries in the UK including the role of producers, commissioners and production companies, project development and financing, and key legal issues. You will also reflect on the career entry routes and required formal and informal qualifications for the TV and film industry.

Teaching and Assessment

Informal assessment will take place through group discussion, class room activities, and questions and answers sessions as guided by your tutor.
