Eligibility
- You must be a qualified nurse or midwife either in the UK or overseas.
What will I learn?
The short course will enable you to:- Gain knowledge and an understanding of legal and professional issues
- Further your knowledge related to infection control
- Enhance your understanding required for related anatomy and physiology
- Develop your skills in the procedure for cannulation and venepuncture
- Develop your skills by supervised practice on simulated arms.
Teaching and Assessment
Mode of deliveryTeaching methods include lecture followed by practical session / practice with cannulation arms.
Assessment
Assessment for the module consists of undertaking assessed practices of the skill(s) in your clinical area. The assessment is carried out by a healthcare professional from your Trust e.g. nurse, doctor, phlebotomist.
