Eligibility
Work/Clinical Placement RequirementsThe module requires you to be:
- Working in a suitable practice area
- Working in a clinical placement
- Have a clinical mentor.
What will I learn?
The short course will enable you to:- Understand how vaccines work
- Gain awareness of the cold change cycle and factors affecting vaccine efficacy
- Contraindications, precautions and side effects of vaccines relevant to their role
- Identify the correct muscles to vaccinate either a child or an adult
- Understand the significance of needle length and needle bevel, where applicable
- Adhere to local Infection control guidelines
- Gain knowledgeable on the technique of vaccination
- Understand, recognise and treat anaphylaxis.
