Eligibility

Registered Nurse currently working in a surgical clinical area.

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 107

What will I learn?

This module will enable you to:

  • Apply and utilise your knowledge and understanding of fluid management and pain physiology in clinical area.
  • Gain the knowledge and skills to undertake surgical patient assessment, safely care for diabetic patients, maintain high standards of infection control, care for patients with PCA/Epidural and demonstrate effective communication skills.

Teaching and Assessment

Mode of delivery

Teaching methods include lecture sessions, workshops, small group activities and discussions, and whole-class discussions.

Assessment

Assessment for the module consists of a reflective care study and completion of a Skills Schedule.
