Specialising Practice in Intensive Care Nursing Module  CPPD

The module focuses on areas of knowledge and understanding which underpin the nursing care required by the intensive care patient requiring specialist intensive care such as neurotrauma or cardiothoracic intensive care.

This module can be taken as part of the BSc Nursing Studies top up degree. If you wish to complete a top-up degree, please apply directly on the Nursing Studies programme webpage. If you would still like to complete this module as a CPPD student but would like to complete a top-up degree at a later date, please note that you will only be able to transfer a maximum of 30 credits which have been awarded within 5 years prior to the start date of the programme (top-up degree). Eligibility

Non EEA students can only apply as part of a programme, not as a stand-alone module.

  • You must have at least ten months experience of working within intensive care and be currently working in an intensive care unit.
  • You will require a clinical mentor.
  • You must have undertaken the NM3226 Intensive Care Core Skills and NM3227 Intensive Care Role Development (or equivalent) to be eligible to do this module.

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7.0

Please note that due to changes in the UKVI's list of SELTs we are no longer able to accept TOEFL as evidence of English language for students who require a CAS as of April 2014.
