- You must be a qualified nurse or midwife either in the UK or overseas.

For those students whose first language is not English one of thefollowing qualifications is also required:
- IELTS: 7.0
- TOEFL (internet-based): 107
What will I learn?
The module will enable you to:- Gain a deeper understanding of empirical and philosophical perspectives of science
- Gain an understanding of the merits of science and its distinction from other forms of knowledge
- Explore the influences of scientific principles and practices on nursing and the relationship between scientific evidence critical reasoning
- Understand the influence of science, its methods and achievements on healthcare practice
- Gain understanding of the challenges and limitations of scientific research in healthcare contexts.
Teaching and Assessment
Mode of deliveryTeaching methods consist of a variety of teaching and learning method. Critical debates are used to promote your understanding of science and its contributions to healthcare practice.
Assessment
Assessment for the module consists of a 3,000 word essay on a negotiated topic relevant to your area of healthcare practice.
