What will I learn?

The module will enable you to:

  • Explore how risk is conceptualised in health and social settings
  • Critically explore the evidence-base which guides risk assessment in mental healthcare in the context of social, cultural and scientific frameworks
  • Explore the application of risk theory to specific areas of practice such as forensic mental health care.
  • Critically examine decision making in terms of risk management in the context of mental healthcare.
