Eligibility

  • You must be a qualified nurse who is currently working within the perioperative environment. Preferably a minimum of 12 months perioperative experience.

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 107

What will I learn?

The module will enable you to:

  • Promote the utilisation of an evidence based approach to caring for patients with complex and specific needs
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the non-technical skills required by a theatre nurse and application to practice.
  • Utilise your perioperative leadership and management knowledge and skills to provide a safe, effective and efficient service.

Teaching and Assessment

Mode of delivery

Teaching methods include lectures, discussions,tutorials, problem solving activities, study of literature.

Assessment

Assessment for the module consists of a reflective essay to demonstrate achievement of the module learning outcomes.
