Eligibility

  • You must be a qualified nurse or midwife either in the UK or overseas.

Work/Clinical Placement Requirements

The module requires you to be:

  • Working in a suitable practice area

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the
following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 107

What will I learn?

The module will enable you to:

  • Gain the skills required for assessing and managing the care of patients with common ophthalmic conditions.

Teaching and Assessment

Mode of delivery
Teaching methods include lectures, seminars and work-based learning.

Assessment
Assessment for the module consists of an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) is to assess your practice skills. Following completion of the OSCE, you will be required to submit a 1500 word reflective analysis on your performance in the OSCE.
