Nuclear Medicine  CPD

This extensive module covers general nuclear medicine practice. It addresses imaging techniques, legislation, patient care, consent, dosimetry and radiation hazards.

Eligibility

  • Honours degree in Radiography or other health related subject

OR

  • Appropriate professional qualifications e.g. Diploma of the College of Radiographers. 

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 100

What will I learn?

The module will enable you to:

  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge base compatible with nuclear medicine procedures encountered in a clinical setting
  • Enhance your knowledge so that you can discuss nuclear medicine protocols, including reasons for performing scans and possible modifications
  • Gain the ability to interpret nuclear medicine requests and images, discussing anatomy, physiology and, where indicated, pathology
  • Enhance your knowledge to operate in a safe, efficient manner in a clinical setting.
