Eligibility

  • You must be a qualified nurse or midwife either in the UK or overseas.

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the
following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 6.5
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 100

What will I learn?

The short course will enable you to:

  • Gain an overview of primary care and public health
  • Further you understanding of the programmes; how the specialist practice programme fits within your career plans
  • Gain an introduction to PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Develop the skills necessary for preparing for interview and how to present yourself at interview
  • Further your knowledge in preparation for returning to study, reading and critiquing a paper/report.

Teaching and Assessment

Mode of delivery
Mode of delivery consists of lectures, discussions, group and individual work . The days are classroom based.  

Assessment
There is no formal assessment. However, students will be required to prepare and give a short presentation on a topic covered on the course.
