Eligibility
- You must be a qualified nurse or midwife either in the UK or overseas.
The module requires you to be:
- Working in a suitable practice area
- In a clinical placement
- Have a clinical mentor.
English Requirements
- IELTS: 7.0
- TOEFL (internet-based): 107
What will I learn?
The module will enable you to:- Gain an increased knowledge in the essential evidence-based rationale to support special and high dependency care of the sick and vulnerable neonate within a family care setting
- Acquire necessary core skills for safe and effective neonatal nursing practice over a range of dependency levels
- Understand how special and high dependency neonatal nursing fits into the whole spectrum of care for the sick neonate and family
- Network with other neonatal nurses across different units and regions.
Teaching and Assessment
Mode of deliveryTeaching methods include lectures, group work, scenario-based teaching, skills training and one-to-one tutorials and reflection sessions.
Assessment
Assessment for the module consists of a portfolio of practice with reflection.
