Eligibility
Professional/Academic Qualifications- You must be a qualified nurse or midwife either in the UK or overseas.
- You must have at least 9 months experience in intensive care.
Clinical Placement Requirements
The module requires you to be:
- Working in an intensive care unit
English Requirements
For those students whose first language is not English one of thefollowing qualifications is also required:
- IELTS: 7.0
- TOEFL (internet-based): 110
What will I learn?
The module will enable you to:- Appreciate the different causes and impact of haemodynamic compromise
- Critically discuss assessment and ITU management of haemodynamic compromise
- Appreciate the impact of reduced renal perfusion and treatment strategies to support renal function.

Mode of deliveryTeaching methods include classroom lectures / seminars, tutorials and self directed study.
Assessment
Assessment for the module consists of a viva voce with one thousand word reflection.
