First Contact Scheme  CPD

The First Contact Scheme is for staff who currently assess or want to begin to assess patients presenting undifferentiated diagnoses.

The scheme is made up of three parts:

  1. A short course in biological foundations, which provides a revision of anatomy and physiology and related pathology
  2. The clinical assessment in primary care module, which covers physical assessment and commonly presented illnesses and injuries
  3. The scheme finishes with a clinical assessment in practice work-based learning module that brings together learning from the scheme in relation to the practitioner's own area of work.
