EU – Legal Principles and Translation CPD
In this course you will cover the institutions of the EU, sources and key issues in EU law, European rights, terminology of treaties, directives and regulations, ECJ judgments and legislation of the European Parliament. The course includes document analysis and legal translation workshops.

Eligibility
This course is suitable for practising translators and linguists interested in EU law.
Enrolment and refunds
The enrolment deadline is 2 weeks before the start of the course. Payment must be made in full at the time of enrolment.
Refunds will be given, minus a 15% administration charge, if written notification is received at least 14 days before the start of the course. No refunds will be given with less than 14 days written notice. See Terms and Conditions for more information.What will I learn?
- Institutions of the EU, sources of and key issues in EU law, European rights - the European Convention, the War Crimes Tribunal
- English terminology: treaties, directives and regulations, ECJ judgments, legislation of the European Parliament
- Treaties, directives and regulations, ECJ judgments, legislation of the European Parliament (German / French / Spanish / Polish terminology)
- Translation workshops in separate groups (English into one of French / German / Spanish / Polish; and French / German / Spanish into English)
