Contraception and sexual health theory CPD
The module will cover all contraception methods, investigations and treatment of sexually transmitted infections giving the delegate enough information to give advice and care for client who request it.

- You must be a qualified nurse or midwife either in the UK or overseas.

What will I learn?
The module will enable you to:- Summarise all methods of contraception
- Justify the appropriate use of contraception methods related to the UKMEC guidance criteria.
- Understand hoe the methods of contraception work in relation to the anatomy and physiology of the body
- Comprehend the importance of choice in relation to need and personal acceptability
- Identify all sexually transmitted infections
- Explain the signs and symptoms of each infection in relation to the anatomy and physiology of the body
- Illustrate the treatments available for each sexually transmitted infection
- Explain how services need to adapt to the needs of the client to improve care and access
- Have an awareness of government initiatives.
Teaching and Assessment
Mode of deliveryTeaching methods include, lectures and group discussions, group and individual presentations, workshops and experiential learning activities, debates, self directed and guided learning and tutorials.
Assessment
Assessment for the module consists of a 3,000 word academic assignment of the delegates choice related to a topic or issue covered within the module.
