Eligibility
The modules are suitable for all practitioners and professionals working with children/young people and their families from the following settings: health; education; social care; youth justice; youth and community; early year's settings.
English Requirements
For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:
- IELTS: 7.0
- TOEFL (internet-based): 107
What will I learn?
The module will enable you to:
- Develop a critical understanding of child protection systems and how these link across key agencies in line with working together to safeguard children (HM Government, 2010)
- Equip professionals working with families where there are significant concerns surrounding children, to maintain the balance between working collaboratively with the family whilst maintaining safe professional boundaries, preventing the risks of enmeshment and dangerousness
- Gain an in-depth understanding of resilience thus enabling them yo identify risk and vulnerability surrounding the emotional well-being of the child and their family.
