Eligibility

  • You must be a qualified nurse or midwife either in the UK or overseas.

Work/Clinical Placement Requirements

The module requires you to be:

  • Working in a suitable practice area.

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the
following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 107

What will I learn?

The module will enable you to:

  • Apply knowledge of pharmacology and disordered anatomy and physiology in clinical decision-making
  • Develop and enhance appropriate assessment skills
  • Effectively manage and support individuals with cardiac problems from pre-admission to post discharge.

Mode of delivery
Teaching methods include lectures, simulation and scenario based teaching to enhance clinical decision-making.

Assessment
Assessment for the module consists of an OSCE followed by a reflective analysis (1000 word essay).
