Why should I take part in Made@City?

Made@City is a great opportunity for you to showcase your project to an audience of businesses and academics. It’s also a chance to get feedback from potential users and it’s an even better way of making new connections.

Taking part in Made@City opens doors to new opportunities in your professional life.

What kind of projects are you looking for?

Projects can be anything from a physical piece of 'kit' to a website, app or some other exhibit. The main criteria is that you have 'made' something. To get an idea of what other students have done in the past, have a look at our photo galleries from previous years.

Does Made@City count towards my results?

No, M@C does not count towards your results but it’s a great opportunity that can land you your next job or funding for your project!

How do I apply?

It’s easy! You just need to complete a simple form and submit it. Go to the application page.

I’ve applied now what?

The team will get in touch within two weeks following the application deadline to confirm whether your application has been successful. They will also give you information on next steps.

My application was successful, can I invite my family and friends to attend the exhibition?

Yes! Made@City is about celebrating the amazing work you’ve done and what better way to do it than by having your family and friends there to support you.

Is Made@City a good event to invite my potential or current employer to?

Yes! Yes! Yes! Made@City is a great opportunity for employers to come and see what you’ve been working on in the past year.

What type of equipment can I request to exhibit my project?

Projects vary widely and we aim to support exhibitors as much as possible with their equipment needs. Typically an exhibitor will get:

  • 1.5 metre desk space
  • One or two chairs (depending on number of team members)
  • Power supply
  • Internet access
  • Additional equipment that can be requested:

  • PC computer
  • Laptop (subject to availability)
  • Computer screen/monitor
  • Projector and screen (subject to availability)
  • HDMI lead
