Our Main Aim

Praxis is a membership organisation advancing human rights and social justice of people displaced by war, conflict, impoverishment and environmental degradation.

What we do as an organisation

  • Orientation classes, information, one-to-one advice, counselling and casework for new residents and an accommodation service for separated young people in and around East London.
  • Advice, training and casework support to professionals working with new residents in London and in targeted dispersal regions.
  • Facilitation of a process of community building, locally and in the regions to develop the full participation of new communities as active citizens.
  • Prepare new residents for employment.
  • Action research and consultancy for change in wider policy and service delivery mechanisms for migrant communities and develops new areas of work for Praxis.

What we do as part of the Celebrating Enterprise project

  • Run six action learning sets on business development and marketing strategies for artistic enterprises.
  • Refer potential art based business entrepreneurs to support services provided by other Celebrating Enterprise project partners.
  • Praxis provides space for artists from refugee communities and ethnic minority groups during community events (ie. Refugee Week, end-of-year parties) to promote their products.

Who we work with
