Work Shadowing Scheme
What is our aim?
The scheme has been developed to offer our students an opportunity to shadow a professional who has specific knowledge about an occupation or career in which the students are interested. The work shadowing experience typically lasts for one full day.
Last year's Work Shadowing Scheme was a great success with 67 work shadowing opportunities arranged between students and employers, ranging from SMEs to multinationals.

What will my organisation gain from participating?
- An exciting and free way for you to increase your profile on campus and raise awareness of your opportunities among our future graduates.
- A time-effective way to develop your relationship with the University and the students as each work shadowing opportunity is only one day long and it is very easy to join the Scheme!
- Involvement in the scheme is particularly seen as an advantage for regular graduate recruiters who would like to encourage more focused applications.
What will students gain from participating?
Participation in the Scheme enables our students to gain a better understanding of the different career paths available to them and make more informed career choices. It helps them develop a more realistic picture of the job market as well as raise their aspirations.
