Tutoring   

City University students go into schools once a week from November to March to assist the teacher in class or revision sessions. Tutoring is usually for Maths, though we have some Business tutors, as well as general subject tutors in Primary Schools.

School Visits   


Classes or groups of up to fifty pupils can visit City University to meet our students, go on a tour of the campus, and work in groups on our My Perfect Course activity (with prizes!) These one-day events are open to Years 6 – 10.

Masterclasses   


We run one-day Masterclasses in Business and Journalism for sixth form/college pupils from across London. The events are held on campus, with subject-specific talks from lecturers and careers advisors, and participants work in groups on intensive project work. The Business Masterclasses feature a ‘Dragon’s Den’-style pitching session, Journalism participants create their own newspaper or radio show.

Taster Days   


These are one-day events held at City that focus on a subject area such as Business or Engineering, aimed at Years 6 – 11. Pupils work with our Student Ambassadors in groups, and go on a tour around the University too.

External Ambassador Events   

City University Student Ambassadors can come to your school to help out on Parents Evenings, Progression Days, and other similar events. They can help with activities, talk about their own experiences of university life and answer questions from parents and pupils.

Industry Days   


We run two intensive one-day events for sixth form/college pupils here at City University, one on Computing and IT, the other on Careers in the City. Participants are from across London, and they learn from professionals in these fields then have the chance to apply their knowledge in afternoon groupwork.

Individual Career Guidance Interviews   

Trained Careers Advisors from City University come into schools to deliver one to one guidance sessions with pupils from Years 9 – 13, including FE Colleges. These help the pupil think about their options and their future, giving the pupil a personalised action plan to take away with them.

Career Talks in Schools   


Our fully-qualified Careers Advisors can deliver sessions in schools on a variety of areas, such as Year 9 progression, goal setting, or subject-related options. They use presentations, question & answer sessions, and other activities to help young people think about their future.

Parents Events   

Our trained Careers Advisors can come along to school events such as parents evenings, option evenings etc. to deliver presentations and answer parents’ questions on Higher Education and their children’s options.
