Young People/Community & Teachers

Within the Centre for Careers and Skills Development there are two teams developing our links with the Community.

The Widening Participation Team

The Widening Participation team runs a variety of schemes to help young people from all walks of life gain access to, benefit from and succeed in higher education. The projects give young people an opportunity to see what it is like to study at university and give them an insight into where it might lead them; we aim to raise their aspirations to succeed and to show them how higher education could help them realise their ambitions.

Community Volunteering

Community Volunteering offers support to students and staff who are interested in getting involved in volunteering. We provide a brokerage service to match individuals to organisations, support volunteers on a range of projects run at City University working with local young people and help students to set up their own volunteering projects.
