I live in cetnral London and I wasn't affected by them. One of our local shopping areas was damaged. The local residents went out the next day to clean it up.I actually feel safer in London now because the majority of Londoners were annoyed by the riots and are less tolerant now of anti-social behaviour. I don't know how the world media portrayed the riots but many of my friends abroad seemed to think we were living in some kind of war zone. When in reality it was like this for the police during 4 nights but the majority of people and 90% of the city was completely unaffected. The riots were really small scale.
