City University London is a global University committed to academic excellence with a focus on business and the professions and an enviable central London location.
City’s academic range is broadly-based with world-leading strengths in business; law; engineering; mathematical sciences; informatics; the arts including journalism and music; social sciences; and health sciences.
The University is in the top 5% of universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011/12 and in the top 30 UK universities according to the Times Higher Education Table of Tables (2011).
It is ranked in the top 10 in the UK for both graduate employability (The Times Good University Guide 2011) and graduate starting salaries (The Sunday Times University Guide 2011) and fifteen of its subject areas were identified as undertaking world-leading or internationally-excellent research in the last Research Assessment Exercise.
City attracts over 21,000 students (35% at postgraduate level) from around 160 countries and academic staff from over 50 countries.
Led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Curran, the University has embarked on a strategic transformation to strengthen its position as a leading global University.
As part of this transformation and following two earlier rounds of investing in academic excellence in 2011, City is seeking to appoint 25 Professors with outstanding records of research achievement and a commitment to excellent education in the following disciplines:

As well as sector-leading salary and benefits, each Professor will have the opportunity to recruit a Lecturer and two fully-funded doctoral students.
