The Centre's aims and objectives

nurseThe Centre aims to support and sponsor the continuous improvement of health and social care management and organisation through the application of rigorous management thinking, drawing on the disciplines of finance, management, community and health sciences, health economics, and health informatics and our members profound knowledge of the health and social care sector.

 

We aim to advance the body of knowledge about health and social care management and organisation through:

  • the development of innovative and flexible teaching programmes that will earn participants academic recognition 
  • problem focused and evidence based research programmes

 

Our vision is to become an authority with a world-wide reputation as an independent centre for making better managed health and social care happen by applying theory to the field and allowing the field to advance theory. We aspire to create a wide community of practice by having participants and commissioners of programmes join the Centre and become our members.

 

The aims of the Centre are to:

  • develop and launch innovative and leading-edge leadership programmes
  • carry out interdisciplinary teaching, research and development in the health and social care sector initially at National level and then increasingly at European and International levels
  • serve as a centre for sharing information, bringing together academics, practitioners and policy-makers to take leadership forward in an integrated way across the health and social care sector.
