Publishing culture and process

Publishing culture and process

In this module you will gain an informed understanding of how the book and other print media emerged, first as artefacts and later as commercial products.

You will develop an applied understanding of the creation of published objects and content, including the processes of authorship, publishing market research, concept definition, decision-making and the roles involved in product development.

You will learn to apply insights, from analytical theory and research from the humanities, social sciences and business disciplines, to the analysis of published artefacts and the publishing process.

The module will provide you with a broad historical, cultural and commercial knowledge of the publishing industry across all sectors.
