Principles & practice of legal translation

This module aims to provide you with an introduction to the principles and practice of translation and legal translation. 

You will gain an understanding of the general legal principles which underpin the professional practice of a legal translator.

You will be provided with an overview of the major translation theories and the English legal system, as well as an introduction to terminology research and an overview of history and linguistic features of legal English.

This will enable you to contextualise the professional practice of legal translation within all other fields of translation.
