In this elective module you will explore music in contemporary society focusing on popular music topics and issues from the year 2000 onwards.

Central to the module is the idea that music does not exist in historical or sociocultural vacuum. By exploring the materials of our current musical environment you will also explore links to the past and consider future directions in which popular music may travel.
