Dramatic writing

This module looks at contemporary and classic plays and screenplays from the writer’s point of view.

You will  consider the compositional choices the writer has made in terms of form and genre which enables you to try out some of these choices in your own writing.

The module aims to deepen your understanding of dramatic form, to enable you to make informed choices in your writing and to engage you with other writers’ work.

Activities include writing exercises, reviewing, play/script analysis, research and interacting with visiting writers.
