Course tutors
Dr Kaja Shonick | Dr Shonick teaches on and coordinates the Global Citizenship Summer School. Prior to joining City, Kaja worked for the Salzburg Global Seminar and the University of Washington, Seattle. She received her PhD in History from the University of Washington, Seattle, and her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on migrations and minority communities in Europe. At present she is working on a project in conjunction with the Salzburg Global Seminar on the relationship between Holocaust education, human rights education, and genocide prevention. She has lived in the Germany, Austria, the United States, and the UK.
Professor Rosemary Hollis | From 1995 to 2005 Professor Hollis was Head of the Middle East Programme at Chatham House, having spent five years in a similar post at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence Studies. During the 1980s she was a lecturer in Political Science and International Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she gained a PhD in Political Science. She also holds a BA in History and an MA in War Studies from the King's College, University of London.
