Overview

Donald Nordberg is a writer, strategist and academic.

A Visiting Professor at City and a specialist in business and financial news, Don has held senior management positions in news and communications organisations. He leads modules on the Erasmus Mundus MA (see also the Erasmus Mundus Masters website) and Financial Journalism MA courses.

Don is also Senior Lecturer in Strategy at Westminster Business School, where he teaches MBA studies and other postgraduate courses. His book, Corporate Governance: Principles and Issues, is published by Sage Publications.

During nearly 20 years at Reuters in Europe and the United States, Don served in a variety of senior roles. He was Vice President, Reuters America, responsible for financial news marketing and development of a financial television service. As News Editor for the Western hemisphere, he supervised 350 journalists in 40 offices. He was Financial Editor Europe, Middle East and Africa, a role which included product management as well as editorial responsibilities. He was bureau chief in Frankfurt and chief correspondent in Switzerland.

His work in business included a post as Director of Strategy at RAW Communications, a streaming media company working in investor relations and corporate communications, from 1999 until it was acquired by Thomson Corp in 2004.

A native of Chicago, he has studied at the University of Illinois, Warwick Business School and the University of Liverpool Management School. His academic writing (listed at http://www.nordberg.org.uk/profile.html) has appeared in a variety of journals in management studies, education and journalism.
