Research
In the last Research Assessment Exercise (2008), half the Department's research activity was rated as internationally excellent or world leading (4* or 3*) and placed well within the top third of UK institutions. The RAE 2008 noted strengths in the memory, autism and applied psychology areas and also noted that research income was strong. Some staff were also submitted under the Nursing & Midwifery unit of assessment which achieved an outstanding rating, placing City in the top five UK institutions in the Times Higher Education's league table.
