Overview
Dr Collantes-Celador (MA Edinburgh, MSc LSE, PhD Aberystwyth) joined the Department in September 2008. She was previously a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI), Spain, where she also lectured on conflict and peace studies.
Since joining City University London she has also taught as Visiting Lecturer at IBEI (2008-2009) and at the 4th EADI International Summer School on "Recent Perspectives on Development Cooperation, Peace and Conflict", hosted by HEGOA Institute/University of the Basque Country, September 2008.
Research interests
Dr Collantes-Celador's main research interests lie in the field of post-conflict peacebuilding, with special reference to the security dimensions of statebuilding processes, institutional approaches to security sector reform (particularly in the field of police reform/assistance), human security and the Western Balkans. Her research has appeared in the academic journals International Peacekeeping; Crime, Law and Social Change; Conflict, Security and Development, and the Journal of Southeast European and Black Sea Studies. She has also participated in various edited volumes and projects with the Swedish National Defence College, Chr. Michelsen Institute, CIDOB Foundation, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the Observatory of European Foreign Policy (Barcelona), EuroMeSCo and the LSE Human Security Study Group.She is currently writing a book monograph on the relationship between police reform and statebuilding processes in post-conflict scenarios.
Dr Collantes-Celador is one of the convenors of the BISA South East Europe Working Group. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Working Paper series of the International Catalan Institute for Peace (ICIP).
