He has a special interest in developing integrative methodologies for research training.

Dr Rawson trained in Counselling Psychology at City University. He went on to become lecturer and later Programme Director. He is now a part-time lecturer and tutor.

Dr Rawson is also a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and a registered medical herbalist. He runs a busy private practice in Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire, where he is able to combine psychological counselling with herbs. He has consultancy work in oncology counselling at the Harley Street Clinic, London. He is also Research Director for the Eyetracker research company.

Research interests

Dr Rawson has an extensive research background. He has conducted numerous research and development studies for the health and welfare fields across Europe.

Dr Rawson specializes in teaching research methodology. He sees his role as demystifying research and empowering practitioners to create forms of research that are consistent with the aims of therapeutic work. His publications include reports from a number of major funded research studies. He has written about counselling, health education, inter-professional work and research methodology.
