Trusts, foundations & livery companies

City, University of London are very grateful to the trusts, foundations, and livery companies who generously support our work.

Through your support we are able to:

1. Open City to deserving students who would not otherwise have access to higher education through our Scholarships and Bursaries scheme.

2. Reward academic excellence through our range of prizes, nominated by Schools

3. Fund important research, capital and learning initiatives in line with City's Vision for 2016.

The Cass Business School Auditorium:
A Case Study

Cass auditorium

With the help of our generous supporters we have been able to fund the refurbishment of Cass Business School’s flagship Auditorium, which seats 180 people and is one of the key hubs of learning activity within the Business School. With over ten years of service, the Cass Business School Auditorium was in urgent need of refurbishment in order to better serve the needs of Cass students and allow Cass to meet its students’ expectations for a school with world-class facilities.

We were grateful to receive gifts of £100,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation and £20,000 from CHK Charities towards this important project. Thanks to our donors, we have undertaken a total refurbishment of the Auditorium. In summer 2015, the desks, seating and carpets were replaced and the entire audio visual system upgraded. The new AV system consists of state-of-the-art laser projectors, television HD broadcast quality cameras and recording systems, ‘always on’ live streaming capabilities (allowing lectures and events to be broadcast to any television or computer across City), vastly improved audio and microphone systems and a complete overhaul of the AV furniture, cabling and connectivity.  In addition, over 80 power sockets have been installed in the desks to enable students to power their laptops, phones and tablets. Improvements have also been made to the lighting inside the Auditorium, and signage outside the room.

We are very grateful to our supporters, without whose help it would not have been possible to update and refresh this flagship space inside the School. With their help, City, University of London is able to deliver the best possible educational environment for its students and staff.
