Osama Javaid (Television Current Affairs Journalism, 2005) is an active member of civil society and a broadcast journalist.

He currently works for the country's leading news channel, DawnNews, in Karachi ensuring that the channel highlights social, political and economic issues.

Over the years Javaid has worked for the BBC, Reuters and a specialised TV channel for teachers funded by the Department of Education and Skills UK.

Osama says: "It would be great if City alumni in Pakistan could come together and meet regularly to explore various options. We can not just encourage more students to explore academic options at City but also provide a lot of support to various sectors in Pakistan with our professional expertise".

Rafey Altaf (Professional Legal Skills 2003) has been a high court practitioner for over seven years. He is currently partner at Altaf & Altaf, a corporate and commercial chambers based out of Lahore with offices in Islamabad, Multan and Karachi.

Rafey is also a lecturer in Public Law and Public International Law on the University of London (External Programme) at University College Lahore. Rafey is a member of the Board of Studies for Law at Government College University, Lahore and has also recently served as Advisor to the Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan.

Sajid Qaisrani (MA International Journalism 1986) is a currently working as a freelance development consultant in Islamabad.

Sajid's career history includes News Controller for Pakistan Televison News, Resident Editor for The Pakistan Times Islamabad, and Director of Political Participation at the Aurat Foundation, Pakistan's leading women's rights organisation.

Sajid now also occasionally writes for Pakistan's national newspapers.
