Angeliki Kavouriari

Angeliki Kavouriari (LLM Maritime Law 2016) is based in Athens and works as a Lawyer for Laskaridis Shipping Company LTD

About me:

I graduated from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens with a Bachelor of Laws in 2011 and I immediately started to work as a trainee lawyer in a reputable Law Firm in Athens. After completion of my traineeship, I successfully passed the Athens Bar Association exams and continued working at the same Law Firm as a qualified lawyer in the field of Banking Law. Eager as I was to gather new skills and experience in the field of civil law, I worked as a Junior Associate at a well-known Law firm in Athens. I was admitted to the LLM in Maritime Law of City, University of London and graduated in 2016 with distinction. Currently, I work as an Attorney at the legal department of a major shipping company. The real challenge as an ambassador would be to introduce the values of the City Family to new candidates who intend to study at City University and also help them in practice after the completion of their studies.

Why I am an Ambassador:

This is the perfect opportunity to give back to City and help enhance the profile of the University worldwide. This is of utmost importance to me, since the high level of knowledge offered by one of the most reputable institutions worldwide really assisted me in finding my current job in Greece. So taking up this role would be the ideal way to say “thank you” to all the people i.e. my professors and the staff, who were by our side from the very beginning of the LLM, and encouraged us to make our dreams come true. I really hope that this role could provide me with the opportunity to assist graduates of the University who would be interested in finding a job here in Greece.
