Library services

City alumni are entitled to an 80% discount off the annual rates charged to external visitors for borrowing privileges at the library.

Library Membership

City alumni are entitled to free use of the libraries at Northampton Square, Cass Business School and The City Law School for reference purposes and an 80% discount off the annual rates charged to external visitors for borrowing privileges. If you wish to borrow books, you can register and pay a £30 annual subscription online.

You can access the Wi-Fi connection as a guest, on your own device, by requesting a password from the IT Service Desk, the Library or the Alumni Relations Office. Please be aware that we are unable to offer access to computers in the library.

You can benefit from the recently introduced 'walk-in' service, which gives you access to specific electronic databases. If you have any queries please contact e-access@city.ac.uk.

Walk-in access is currently offered at the Northampton Square Library only, so if you would like to use the named computer for more than an hour, please book with the library by calling 020 7040 8191.

To access the library, please request an Alumni Card from us first. You will need it to prove your status as an alumnus when visiting the library for the first time. You will be notified by email as soon as your alumni card has been activated.
