About City

Admissions

These pages are for colleagues responsible for making admissions decisions or preparing CAS for international students. In order for an applicant to apply for a Tier 4 visa, City must issue them with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).  A CAS is a unique electronic reference number which is assigned to a student using the UKVI's Sponsor Management System (SMS).

It is essential that Tier 4 requirements are taken into consideration before an admissions decision is made in order to ensure that students will meet the criteria for a Tier 4 CAS. At City, University of London, staff prepare CAS using the Tier 4 Checklist. Staff can obtain access to the Checklist by completing training. Details of training sessions can be found on the Leadership and Staff Development pages on the staff hub. If no training sessions are currently available please contact Jelena Culum.
