Student Appeals and Complaints

The University aims to learn from experience to enhance and improve the way we work. We hope you will help us in trying to resolve problems in the simplest way, and give us the opportunity to put things right where they have gone wrong. But we recognise that this is not always possible, and in this case, we have formal procedures which allow for further review.

Here you will find information about how the University manages appeals, complaints and student disciplinary matters. You can also find details of the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) for Higher Education, which offers an external review if you are not satisfied after all internal procedures have been completed.

Services under the "Appeals, Complaints and Enhancement" heading are provided through the Student Centre, independently from individual academic departments. While we can guide students through the various processes involved, we do not offer a representation service. For representation and help with writing an appeal or complaint, please contact the The Students' Union advice and support office.
