Research Degrees

The University provides a diverse range of research degree programmes through its Schools, Departments and Centres and through its validated and partner institutions. Overall oversight of research degree provision across the University is through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. The Framework for Research Degree Provision sets out the arrangements for the quality assurance and enhancement of research degree provision across the University and also aims to clarify the principles that underlie the quality assurance and enhancement of research degree provision regarding the admission, progress and assessment of the University's research degree students.

With effect from October 2011, to help record, monitor and report on doctoral supervision and research student progress, all written records of supervision meetings are required to be retained in Research and Progress. Further information on Research and Progress, and how to access it, is available by clicking on the link below.
